About this Shrine

Located in the heart of Akita, Village Du Eight Hara Shrine is a historic Shinto shrine dedicated to the enshrined deity, Otohime's brother, or a related kami, likely, Yamato-takeru's (also known as Ōhirume-no-muchi-no-kami), and also UtsukuniŌno-Ō no Kami or Otsukubemono, however most often associated with the Eight Hara Kami , it is one of the oldest shrines in Akita.
