About this Shrine

The shrines of the Tatsuishi district in Niigata Prefecture are said to be among Japan's oldest, with evidence of worship dating back over 2,000 years. The most famous of these is the Fukuoka Shrine, but it seems there is also a lesser known shrine called 諏訪神社 (Tatsuishi Shrine), which was dedicated to the kami Tatsushi no Okami.
